The Perfect Sketchbook for Travel Artists & Art Enthusiasts

Please give your support to my friend on his Kickstarter project on the most awesome sketchbook ever produced, ‘The Perfect Sketchbook’. ErwinCherng Zhi Lian is a selfless individual and a passionate prolific artist, always on the look out for the ultimate sketchbook, but found none. So he decided to build one and in his own words,
“My passion has led me to try out numerous sketchbooks and I have tried using everything available in the market. With the need to perfect my watercolor sketches, I began to search for that perfect sketchbook. One that should be hardbound, compact, binds well, opens flat, and filled with 100% cotton paper (makes it strong but pliable). Unfortunately, I couldn’t find such a sketchbook out there… so, I decided to make one.”
He’ll need all your support to back the project up so that this dream can be fulfilled and many others would be able to experience the ‘Perfect Sketchbook’ - including yourself.
Click on the link to read more about this and find out for yourself what makes this sketchbook the ultimate one.
p/s Fellow artists, friends and followers please spread the news. Thank you on behalf of my friend/artist Erwin Lian.

Window View Sketch

Inspired by window lookout views from hotels and buildings so today I did one myself. Looking out of the window off 15th Floor of Blk 452.
Minor renovation at my mum’s place and I need to be around to wrap the place up and then clean up. My mum watch the contractors at work while I retreat in her room to sketch this view. :)

Breakfast sketch - Albert Centre Food Centre.

Breakfast sketch - Albert Centre Food Centre.
Kopi is ok ok. Have to add 40 cents to change from Kopi to a 'C' version for my set. That is quite a lot. Kaya bread also ok ok. But the stall banner is nice. Pinkish with a little pavilion icon in bright red umbrella shaped roof theme.

Clover cafe along Syed Alwi Road

Me and my two sketches in Clover cafe along Syed Alwi Road.

After lunch and seeing that it was going to rain soon, I went into a nice cosy cafe called 'Clover' which I spotted while sketching the shophouses earlier on to chill out. Bought a cup cappuccino and finished off with the cafe sketch. Nice coffee by the way. Not crowded too.

The final sketch was quite an incidental one. The rain turned into a mini storm and I was stuck. I then had an idea to sketch on a parking coupon entirely with a brush. The waiter & waitresses are my audiences. One was rewarded with my permission to take a photo of the cafe sketch to show it to her boss. :)

Shop Houses along Syed Alwi Road

Sketches 6.12.12.

Second stop before lunch, a panorama attempt at the shop houses along Syed Alwi Road. I have a student walking pass me and watched me sketch for quite a while. Then closed to finishing my audiences were a group of construction workers who happened to settle at the same location as me for their afternoon nap.
